Outlook Anywhere uses SSL encryption to secure the communications from your laptop or home computer back to the server. For your laptop, if you turn on Cached Exchange Mode, your computer will keep a saved copy of your entire mailbox, while automatically synchronizing with your server once you connect back to the Internet.
